What is it?
Cnawlece Platform v3.00 is one tight package that includes a Web Server, Database Management System, Queries, Templates, and E-Commerce. It is important to understand that, unlike many of the Internet's other free platforms, this is not recycled content! The Cnawlece Platform is designed and created from the ground up to function as one unit. Before adding your own files, the entire system consists of just two files: one Exe file and one Dll file; that's it. All, or Some
Despite the seamless integration, each of the objects that makes up the Cnawlece Platform can function on its own. Need a Database and Query system for that desktop environment? No problem. Need to easily add E-Commerce to your existing infrastructure? No problem. Need to simplify your web based CGI with a Mambo and Joomla! compatible template system? No problem. Need to publish your desktop application to the web? No problem. Oh, and did we mention that it is free? Free, as in Beer. To be honest and upfront, we make our money off the licensing requirement to use the built in E-Commerce system; if and only if you use any part of the Platform for E-Commerce. Our E-Commerce system is bound to credit card merchant accounts that we sell on behalf of the big banks. The commission that we receive from these accounts pays for the development of the Cnawlece Platform. Pretty clever uh? We call it "They-Pay Software", as it has no direct cost to the end user or the developer. Open Source Modules
Understand that the Cnawlece Platform is something you build on top of, it doesn't limit you or box you in. What makes a system uniquely yours is the one or more custom modules you plug into it. Cnawlece Incorporated, together with many of our early followers from versions 1 & 2, have invested in creating the preliminary set of open source custom modules for everyone else to share. We are collectively releasing these modules using the BSD license. The BSD license allows you to freely use the modules and contribute back to the community as is accustom in the open source communities. However, using your best judgment, you are allowed to keep your changes proprietary so that your business can maintain its competitive advantage and stay profitable. |
