First things first: our name. Cnawlece is mid-English for Knowledge. Here at Cnawlece Incorporated we pronounce it as "naw-les" so that it sounds much like our modern word Knowledge but with a softer "s" replacing the "dg". We feel that the historical word for Knowledge, both its age and its meaning, is the ideal name for a database and information management focused company. The company was incorporated in December 2004 after being a proprietorship since 1998. The owner and CEO of Cnawlece Incorporated is Colin Schmidt. Computer programming since pre-school (anyone remember Turbo Logo?) and running a family business at age 16, he was well equipped to make a success out of his first business. Colin has also been a member of the Canadian Equestrian Team since 1998. He has represented Canada at many international competitions and championships in the sport of Equestrian Vaulting (acrobatics on the back of a cantering horse.) Our headquarters are located in downtown Chilliwack, British Columbia, Canada. A small city of 80,000 people tucked away just before the Fraser Valley narrows, an hour out of downtown Vancouver. We find Chilliwack to be large enough (and close enough to Vancouver) to offer everything we need, while remaining small enough (and far enough away from Vancouver) to remain impressively natural.
